Welcome Letter
September, 2010

Aslamu Alikum wa Rahmatullah,

All praises is due to Allah (swt) whose help and forgiveness we seek. We ask His guidance and protection against evil and wrong doing.

With the grace of Allah we welcome you to Iqra's new school year, which InshaAllah will be filled with knowledge and enlightenment for all of us. At Iqra Academy of Virginia, we are committed to provide high quality education, which encourages all our students to reach their maximum potential. We aim to promote education of the whole person through focus on the Holy Quran and Sunnah of the Prophet peace and blessings be upon Him.

The Holy Prophet said:                                                                                                                               “The best among you is he who learned the Holy Quran and taught it to others” (Bukhari)

I, Ayesha Sharif, am very blessed to be the Quran teacher at Iqra. This is my third year here and I'll be teaching the Holy Quran to all levels from Pre-K 1 upto Grade Five, InshAllah. I have a Bachelor Degree in Home Economics,Two year Diploma in Islamic Education, Advance Certificate in Tajweed-ul-Quran, and seven years of experience teaching the Holy Quran to all age groups. I look forward to another successful year working and learning with your child and I welcome your support in advance in this prestigious opportunity.

My objective is to help the students improve their recitation, memorization and reading of the Holy Quran with Tajweed (correct pronunciation). InshAllah, with the help of Allah we will strive to accomplish this. In the next few weeks, each child will be evaluated and we will review.

Quran is the most important subject that your child will be studying here in Iqra. It deserves the most respect, care and attention. Please speak to your child about taking Quran class very seriously and to come to class prepared everyday.

There will be Quran Homework assigned everyday. The homework assignment will be in their Quran folders. Make sure that you check your child's homework agenda everyday. Please do not remove the homework agenda sheet from the folder, but initial it every night after your child has completed the homework. Also in this folder you will find written quizzes that MUST be signed and returned and a Star chart that shows your child's progress in Quran and his/her behavior during the Quran class.

Following these simple steps will ensure your child's success in Quran class.

If you have questions or concerns you can reach me at the school at (804) 330-4888
